Denton, NC - Nestled into southern Davidson County is a hidden treasure - Denton, North Carolina. Bordering High Rock Lake and only minutes from Badin Lake, the area is a recreational paradise. Diverse industry, coupled with a strong agricultural foundation, provides a broad base for employment. Recreation - For boating, skiing, swimming or fishing, Denton is within minutes of Badin and High Rock Lake. These pristine lakes encompass several hundred miles of shoreline. The 15,000-acre High Rock Lake has also hosted Bass Masters tournaments on more than one occasion. If you enjoy hiking, sightseeing or are in the mood for a picnic - Dan Nicholas Park, Morrow Mountain Park and the NC Zoological Park are all within a short 30-minute drive. Uwharrie National Forest, and the Uwharrie Mountains are only a 15-minute drive from Denton. These mountains are said to be the oldest in North America. Here, you'll find thousands of acres for hunting, hiking, camping, and horseback riding.

Davidson County Community College offers associate degrees, diploma, and certificate programs. Distance Education- Davidson County Community College also offers online courses on a variety of subjects.
 A tremendous value to the area is its location to major university programs at UNC-Chapel Hill, Wake Forest University, Duke, NC State, UNC-Charlotte, NC A&T University, and many others. 

The Doyle Lawson Bluegrass Festival, Southeast Old Thresher's Reunion, and Horse and Mule Day the create a full summer's entertainment.
